DIY: Candle Cinnamon Stickers
6:51 PM
Finally, fall has arrived reached occurred in Louisiana.
We've had 2 or 3 "cool" days here (in total) and I'm lovin' it!
I can NOT wait for it to be a daily event because humidity and I are not friends.
With fall comes pumpkin spiced lattes, family gatherings, and leaves.
Yup. Leaves. Ours are still green and will remain that way. We do not get cold enough to see the beautiful changes that many of you see in the north. We have to make our own fall.
So here is a little tutorial to bring a little fall into your home. This DIY project cost me a whopping $3 a candle. With that price why NOT do it.
Dollar tree is one of my many favorite DIY resources. That is where all of these items came from.
Ingredients needed for this recipe are simple:
1. Candle of your choice. $1
2. A pack of Cinnamon Sticks. $1
3. A pack of Twine. $1
Steps
The steps are really simple really. Take a Candle and unwrap the plastic from the candles. I gave them a quick wipe down to get off the Candle "dust" and loose candle bits that came from packaging.
Then take a hair tie, pony tail holder, or how SOME of us down here say "pa-doo-key" and place around the candle. This will help keep the sticks in place for putting on the twine.
After that just take some twine and wrap it around a few times and pull tight.
Make a little bow and Voila. A very simple and quick DIY candle to bring a little piece of fall in your home.
HICCUPS
The only hiccup that I came across is that I wish I would have used a hot glue gun to better secure the sticks to the candle because if you don't tie the twine tight enough the smaller skinnier pieces will fall through the bottom. Other than that your good to go!!
